In any part of
the United States (or the world for that matter) you might see a
child wandering along a path or a country road, with stick in hand
to bat at a rock or to chase away a strange dog , or even to
imagine themselves in a sword fight. No doubt, some of our
best thinking got done while we were very young, in between chores
and childhood games, just wandering across a field or enroute to
