Gospel Clip Art FAQS Page

Frequently Asked Questions about the free use of Gospel Clip Art images.

Q. What is the purpose of this website?

A. The purpose of this site is to share inspirational Christian (specifically, Bible-centered) graphic images with Christian believers around the world.   This site and its ever-growing body of Christian images grew out of my early work on the World Wide Web.   In it's fairly short life-time, many images have been downloaded by Christian believers all over the world and put to good use.

Q. Who creates the images found on this site?

A. The images in this collection are original copyrighted works by Jim Sutton.  They are created for Christian believers to use in any way except redistribution.

Q. How may Gospel Clip Art (including GospelGifs) images be used?

A. Simply put, you can use them but not sell or include them in your own (or anyone else's) collection of clipart or graphics. (But see below for details regarding T-shirts and other items imprinted with GospelGifs images.)

Q. Are the images available to Christian believers for free download and use?

A. Yes, all images on this site are free for uses specified in the next answer.

Q. What kinds of uses are acceptable without fees or special permission?

A. Use these images for bumper stockers, buttons, MySpace or other profiles, church newsletters, posters, t-shirts, personal emails, as a witness on your web pages, in Sunday School and Bible class presentations, and any other kind of Christian witness and ministry. Many of the images are also popular as desktops, screen savers, web site decoration, and even e-postcards.

In short, use Gospel Clip Art images to help spread the good news about Jesus Christ.

Q. Are there any limitations on how these images may be used?

Using GospelGifs Images in a Yearbook

Using the Free Images from this Site

First, remember to always include proper credit to GospelGifs for free images used in any printed product. In a yearbook, this information should be placed near the front or wherever other publishing information/credits are located.

Most of the free images on this site should be large enough to work just fine in a yearbook. For maximum clarity when changing the resolution, be sure to maintain the original number of pixels. If the image is 500 pixels wide, for example, you will need to note that number and change the number of pixels back to 500 after changer the resolution number.

This operation is a lot simpler than it may sound. Just be sure to do so in the same operation, before closing the dialog box (to look at the image), so as not to lose quality, which sometimes happens when you change sizes or resolution in two or more steps.

In Photoshop, under the Image menu, select Image Size. A dialog box opens, showing two main areas: actual pixel size on top, and resolution below that (often just below the image size in inches or whatever unit of measure you use). Change the resolution from 72 or 92 to 300, and then go up and change the pixel size back to what it was. So long as the ratio is locked in (the link symbol), you should only have to change the width.

In Corel Photo Paint, under the Image menu, select Resample. Change the resolution from 72 or 96 to 300, and then change the unit of measure (if needed) to pixels, and change the number back to what it was (500, 560, 600, etc.).

This operation will cause the overall image size to drop to about a 4th of what it was. This probably won't show on the screen, as the image still uses the same number of pixels, but it will show when you place the graphic. You can double check the size by reopening the image size dialog window.

If you need the image to be a little larger, you can usually cheat just a little by increasing the overall size some, without losing any real quality in the printed product. This is because all our images are original artwork, and are created in very large sizes before they are placed on the web, so plenty of information is in the image file.

Large High Resolution Images

If you need the image to be a lot bigger, I can provide you with a high res image at a very reasonable cost, usually about $10 each. If you need more than a few high res images, I can give you a lot price for all the ones you order.
