Christians Love and Accept Other Christians

When Christ enters the heart to rule as Lord and Savior, the whole life is changed.

The significance of accepting Christ as Lord (and not merely as Savior) is best demonstrated in the home by Mom and Dad.  When parents truly set out to follow Jesus Christ, the impact reaches to the smallest and youngest member of the family.

Prejudice is a condition of the human heart greatly influenced by the prejudices practiced around us.  Many children will accept the prejudices of their parents without question, at least until they begin to learn new ones at school or from peers later on in life.

Parents have the very best opportunity to teach children to question all prejudices, and to help guide them away from regarding others as somehow inferior because of race or color or social standing or educational background.  The diversity of national origins, cultures and language has enriched our American society in more ways than can be measured.

We know from Scripture that God is no respecter of persons.  He is the same God to all people.  As the people of God we also need to practice the same kind of love and understanding.  And that understanding and love begins in the home and in the fellowship of the local church.  No one should be shunned or otherwise discouraged from participating in the local church because of their race or national origin or their skin color.

In our homes and in our local Christian gatherings, the adults are to set the example for the children, loving other people and accepting all Christian believers as brothers and sisters in the Lord.  Especially in the church, no human being should ever be judged based on skin color or language or national origins.

People are people, and each one will stand or fall before the Lord for the choices they make and for the life they live, regardless of what they look like or who their parents happened to be.  Parents who teach their children these things in the home with meaningful explanations and by living examples will provide their families with the very best kind of practical and spiritual education.
