While it may seem that I am picking
on Darwin, I am only using his name to represent all the various
theories of evolution that have struggled to maintain top
position since his classic, "Origin of the Species."
Please don't misunderstand, i am a
great admirer of God's gift of the human mind and the power of
logical reasoning. I am always fascinated with the
findings of true science, and how it keeps uncovering mysteries
of God's mighty handiwork. True science is, after all, the
knowledge we acquire through serious research, careful deduction
and — yes — even speculation. The human imagination is a
wonderful and powerful tool that enables us to "see" things we
cannot yet prove, or even be sure exist.
But humans are arrogant by nature,
especially since the fall of humanity into sin. We tend to
forget God, and all too often we try to leave Him out
completely. To cut God out of the picture does not hurt
God in any way, but it usually does place us on a fool's path to
gross error. There is no universe, no earth, no life at
all or physical existence of any kind without God. He is
the power behind all life, and the Mind behind all that exists.
All the beauty and majesty of this world and the vast universe
beyond our wispy atmosphere only exists because it pleases God
for such things to be. He made the world and all the
fullness thereof, as the Scriptures teach.
My point in the graphic above, and
in similar ones, is that when human ideas meet truth, whatever
does not conform to reality is shown to be foolishness and
error. Men and women who discipline their minds to work
within the framework of God's truth, as it is revealed to us in
Christ and in the Holy Scriptures, will be rewarded with real
wisdom as they labor to learn more about the universe and about
the origins of all things. Men and women who reject God's
truth will eventually still end up proving that what God said is
true, just as science slowly does each day in it's long journey
to catching up to what God revealed thousands of years ago
through men like Moses, Isaiah, David and even Job.
