Faith, hope and love: these three remain; and the greatest of
them is love (God's agape, unconditional and unselfish love).
The Christian is not unique in the need for love, for faith, or
for a living hope. All people need these things to be
active in their lives. The Christian is only unique in
that these things are promised us by God Himself.
We possess, in Christ Jesus, all the most wonderful things that
the whole world longs for. We have God's own river of
peace from which to drink. We have God's own love to keep
us warmed in a cold and dark world. We own the hope of
Christ which tells us that we will rise again to reign with Him.
And we have a faith given to us by God that Satan, the world,
and all the imps of hell can never take away.
How remarkable, then, that we still complain and fret over daily
events and circumstances, often as though we had no hope of
faith at all. I guess we are just human, after all.
Even though we have received glorious gifts from Almighty God,
we are still jars of clay, as the Bible says. I am just
thankful that I am not saved by my own goodness, but by the
matchless grace of god, through faith in Jesus Christ.
